Integrative health focuses on Bio-Individuality, meaning no 2 people are the same, therefore we all have individual health & wellness needs that can change throughout the different stages of our lives. It focuses on finding the root cause of chronic symptoms and caters to your specific state of health, body type, and genetic expression. It uses a whole-body approach, utilizing many different forms of natural healing.
There are many pieces to the healing puzzle, including proper nutrition. movement, stress management, detoxification, sleep, emotional support, supplementation, mindset, functional lab testing, herbs, and more. We work to rebalance the body as a complete system, rather than slices of individual parts with no connection to the next. There is no one-size-fits all approach and not one technique is an end-all solution for everyone. The beauty of Integrative Health is looking at each individual as a unique body of working systems with its own unique needs.
I’m a mom of 5, widow, perpetual student, homeschooling mama, research junky, and a lover of nature, medical freedom, wholesome nutrition and plants. I enjoy adventuring with my family, traveling, spending time in nature, gardening, researching, learning, teaching, organizing, and good music. I have dreams of one day homesteading on a beautiful property in the mountains with a giant beautiful garden, beehives, & some animals, while my kids are free to roam wild in and learn from nature every day. I am far from perfect, but am always striving to do better in all areas of my life. I honestly, truly have a passion for natural healing and helping others feel and be their best.
I grew up with chronic ear infections, eczema, sinus issues, and asthma. I was always on antibiotics, inhalers, sinus medications, and eczema creams. Although there wasn’t much information out there at the time, I believe my mom ingrained in me the power to ask questions and do my own research. If the dr wouldn't answer her questions, she'd go to the library and find answers for herself!!
I became a mother in 2003, which opened my eyes to so many more health decisions I needed to be aware of. My husband, our 5 children, and I have all dealt with our share of health issues. Chronic ear infections, horrendous eczema, food allergies and sensitivities, chronic throat infections, anxiety, learning disabilities, leaky gut, histamine intolerance, ADHD, sensory issues, addictions, insomnia, not being able to gain weight and not being able to lose weight, poor bones & weak teeth, brain fog, fatigue, joint pain, chronic pain, depression, heart palpitations, asthma, seasonal allergies, surgeries, joint replacements, vaccine injury, fatty liver, thyroid dysfunction, B vitamin anemia, MRSA, chronic UTIs & kidney infections…man, we’ve been through it!
Our health didn’t just get better over night. In fact we’re still (and always will be) on our health journey. Sometimes new things pop up or we fall behind, but we are always working on putting the pieces together and getting to the root cause. Experience, trial and error, lots of dedication and hard work, and thousands of hours of research and education got me to where I am today. Like the saying goes, “A worried mother does better research than the FBI!” Our lifestyle, our nutrition, our mindset, our strategy to dis-ease prevention and healing….all had to change in order for us to find health and wellness. We learned to be in tune with our bodies and know when to go and when to stop. A big part of our healing was due in part to our functional medicine dr who really listened to us, was so patient, and opened our eyes to the power of our own bodies to heal themselves with the proper tools. He inspired me to dig deeper and to want to help others on their journey as well. No more bandaids, no more treatments causing new issues. We got down to the root causes and addressed our body systems as a whole.
I believe in bio-individuality, meaning what works for you, might not work for others. It means we are all individuals with individual needs. No one-size-fits all! I believe that food is medicine. Plants were put on this earth for the benefit of our health as both food and medicine. Our genes do not determine our future and they do not have to determine our health. A diagnosis does not determine our fate. You may be surprised at how much you can change through simple lifestyle changes. Symptoms are a reminder that we need to pay attention to our body and our mind. Suppress them and the issue isn’t cured, its masked and often causes new issues. I believe in balancing the whole person in mind, body, and soul. I believe in simplicity. More is not always better. Health is a journey, relish in your accomplishments and not in your failures. Failures will happen. Learn from them. Keep an open mind. You’ll be surprised at what you may discover. Perfection is not expected! I am not perfect. I still love eating out at a good restaurant and indulge in foods & activities that aren't the healthiest for me, but I’ve learned to find balance so that I can still enjoy the things that I love and still feel good. Choosing a healthy lifestyle doesn’t mean you have to give up everything you love forever! It doesn’t mean you have to make drastic changes over night. Start with baby steps. And never be afraid to ask for help! I believe in the importance of rebalancing the body, replenishing it with those things it needs but lacks, and remove toxins in our bodies and our environments that are causing unnecessary stress on our bodies. Health is more than just diet and exercise. The mind-body connection is powerful! My goal is to help guide you through your journey to a better lifestyle through wholesome nutrition, exercise, supplementation (where necessary), toxin removal, stress reduction, rest, and mindset. A whole body approach to health and wellness! I am not a doctor, but I can be a bridge between your doctor and your needs. I do not diagnose, treat, or cure. You must take control of your own health and wellness and I am here to guide and support you through that journey. Let’s create some new habits that can help you feel your best! So what is my why? I want to help others the way I have been helped. I have spent so many years and dollars researching, schooling, certifying to get to where I am today. I don’t want you to have to do that too just to feel better. I’m here to teach you what I’ve learned. I’m here to support you. I want healing to be within arms reach for everyone…financially, physically, mentally...and I will do my best to assist you on your journey.
